Funny Booger Story

Okay so I do not like boogers.. they gross me out so much. But this just made me laugh that I couldn't help myself.

Today I was holding Kenlie and Branson on my lap giving them kisses. Well Kenlie decided she needed to pick her nose and put a nasty booger in her mouth right before she went to kiss me. I stopped her and said "what are you doing?, We don't eat boogers that is disgusting."

She then decides to take the booger out of her mouth and stick it back in her nose.

I asked her... "Honey what are you doing? Put it in the trash not back in your nose"

She was like, oh okay.

It just cracked me up. I just love my Kenlie so much. She always has me laughing about something she is doing.

After we packed up got the kids in the car seats we headed down the mountain. As we drove down the mountain we saw Allison walking up the mountain.

I guess she wasn't ready to leave quite yet.

They had left about 10 minutes before us so I wasn't really sure what she was doing. We stopped to pick her up and she was carrying 3 lug nuts that had broke up of their front tire. We went down the mountain to see where Kenny had pulled off and to see the damage that had been done.

Here is what it looked like after Dustin and Kenny took the tire off.

Headed back to the campsite.

The "reliable"quad stopped running. Poor Kenny was so frustrated but he got it running again so we continued up the mountain.

Dustin dropped us off and went with Kenny to find some parts.

Thankfully Diane and Walter and Kirk and Alberta were already planning on staying another night. They were so nice to offer us food and drinks since we had nothing with us.

The only ones that were thrilled we were staying another night was Kenlie and Ashlynn. They were running around holding hands saying... "We are Staying, We are Staying!" It was so cute.

Dustin and Kenny ended up having to drive to Flagstaff to get some tools and parts and was finally able to get the wheel off so Kenny could use our spare on the way home. They also were using their spare on the back tire from a flat that happened on this trip.

So they get ready to head back to camp after they get the spare all set up and everything and the battery on our Tahoe is dead. So Kenny and Dustin head back up to camp about midnight in search of some jumper cables. Thankfully Kyle had some and then they went back down and returned with both trucks.

We went to bed and woke up packed once again and followed the Brittons off the mountain. I think we were all very happy to be home once we got there.

So last week this nasty thing was in my house. We all know I do not do bugs, they are awful creatures and they do not belong in my house.

I have no idea what it was but it was flying around and it was crazy long. Longer than the width of a quarter. My hubs was out of town on biz and this was the email I had sent him...

We are okay but my heart is racing... you remember about a week ago you tried to kill that huge flying thing and it didn't die? Well I just found it on the stairs and let me tell you it was a fight to the end HAHA. I was doing laundry and needles to say I was trying to throw clothes at it to get it down for some reason. It was just flying around and then it went into the AC vent. Untouchable from me.... so I had Kenlie hold the child gate open and I raced down the stairs and brought the vacuum up with the hose attached and then sucked it up. Phewww... now I can breathe! Now I am off to rewash those clothes that got the bug stuff on it. HAHAHA nice huh.

So today I happen to see another one of those things flying in my backyard. Well it got stuck between my arcadia back door and the screen door. So I was able to get some pic's. No clue what it is but its pretty bizarre, under his wings on his body was fuzzy. Here are some pics.... anyone know what this is? I am guessing moth family but its not like everyday moths that I have seen before.
I am pretty impressed with the pics... they turned out real good.

Branson is 2 1/2 months and rolled yesterday. I thought it was a fluke but today he has been rolling and rolling. I am so proud of my big boy!

1st Project

We decided the first project we would work on in our home would be the laundry room. So we headed to Home Depot got some paint and I painted. Then Dustin built a shelf for me and we painted that.

This is my extended pantry and I am super excited to have the extra storage space.

In front of the window will be my freezer once Dustin puts in an outlet for it.

So we moved, woohoo!!!!

I figured with all the commotion the kids would be up and going crazy. So the plan was to head over to the house and start doing stuff there. Kenlie slept up until we woke her up to leave.

I cant believe she was snoring around all the guys in and out of the house moving furniture and boxes.

Here are a few every day pics of my sweet family.

My dear friend Kristin gave me this swaddle me blanket at my shower and they are the coolest things. Its a swaddling blanket with Velcro's so its super easy and fast to swaddle while your baby is screaming at ya.

Even better there is a hole in the back to put the crotch strap for the car seat in and you can actually belt them in and then swaddle them around the seat belt. Its awesome!

I just love that the swaddle me blanket is think and doesn't interfere with the car seat.

About 2 weeks before Branson was born Dustin and I decided to go for a drive out to the old QC.

Yep that's right I said Queen Creek.

Dustin was probably just about as shocked as you when I woke up that Saturday morning and told him I thought we should take a drive and check out the QC to see how much improved the roads are. When we moved there was one way in and one way out and it was awful! Especially when you got suck behind farmer Joe carrying a huge thing of water and you had a million cars coming the other way so you couldn't pass.

We drove around a few neighborhoods and I was happy to see many improved roads and all the new stores that have been built.

We came across a neighborhood that seemed to have alot of incentives so Dustin decided to go in and check it out. He come out with some papers and wanted to go check out a one of the spec homes they had. I decided we would all go in with him and I was shocked at how much I loved this home. I had goosebumps and everything just felt right and Dustin felt the same way.

Dustin wanted me to get Allison (our realtor) there right away. Yep we shouldn't have been out there in the first place without her but once I get something in my head I want to do it. We tend to do things on impulse sometimes. Allison was out of town with her family and we decided to go to the park really weigh the pros and cons and go from there.

So at the park Kenlie played and Dustin and I talked and talked. We were so excited to have found this house and we decided wed go home and pray about it. If we still felt good about it we would go out there on Monday with Allison.

What a long weekend that was, all we could think about was the house. Monday evening finally came and we walked the house again. We put in an application for the loan and started the paperwork.

Now here we are only a couple weeks from closing and we are spending time packing and getting last minute things together.

We are now coming up on the end of our lease again and we are ready to move. We are very excited to be able to own again.

Kenlie is so excited and everyday she pretends to drive her babies and toys to the new house.
I am so HAPPY to have carpet!

The doors were frozen shut on the 4-Runner we rented. We had to sit in the car while it warmed up for like 20 minutes this morning.

He said the high was like 8 degrees today.

I miss him a ton but I am sure glad I am here in AZ!

Decorating was lots of fun this year because Kenlie could really be hands on and help with the tree. We did lose a couple of the balls but it was so much fun to watch her get excited about being able to put the balls on herself!

Kenlie had her first dental appointment today. I was pretty anxious about it all because dental work just makes me nervous even though I have an awesome dentist. So we are sitting there in the lobby and Kenlie is having a blast with all the toys. I hear a kid screaming in the back and I start to panic. I was about ready to walk out the door I was getting so nervous. Kenlie was off in her own world though so it obviously didn't bother her.

So we got called back... I didn't get any pics at the office because she was a little shy about them wanting to count her teeth and stuff. They let her wear some really cute Dora sunglasses while they looked at her teeth which she loved! They ended up having me sit on the chair and then Kenlie sat on my lap. She did great though once she got comfortable with them. They counted her teeth and polished them real nice. The dentist came in and did his thing and then Kenlie got a new toothbrush and a bunch of other goodies. They also gave her a fish with her name on it to put in for a drawing since she didn't have any cavities.

Garage Sale Bargain

So I was in search for a dresser for Branson. I was getting frustrated after so many garage sales with "okay dressers" but way too pricey for a dresser that needed help. They were all $75+. Way too much for me if I am buying used. So we kept driving and we finally found a garage sale that had garage sale prices. I would have been happy to spend $35-$40. So we found a 5 drawer real wood dresser for $10. I was so excited!

We came home and Kenlie was excited to help Daddy clean it up a little.

3 year check up

Kenlie had her 3 year check up this week and she did awesome. She is doing great!

Her pediatrician had her get some blood work just to make sure she is not anemic or anything. I thought they were gonna prick her finger but they actually wanted to draw blood.

So I am sitting in the chair kind of nervous about whats going to happen and Kenlie is sitting on my lap. She actually did quite well, I was shocked. The lady had some pictures of beaches on the wall and while she was drawing the blood she was telling the lady how she went to the beach with Grandpa and Grandma. It was so sweet. She got two stickers afterward and the lady kept commenting on how calm she was.

Oh my goodness... today has not been the best day. I woke up sick (couldn't take a pill in time). So after getting sick I got Kenlie and I breakfast. She has been on something today so about noon I finally decided it was time for a nap. I was the one who kept falling asleep though and she was wide awake. So I move my hand and feel something I shouldn't have. So then I realize what she has been doing.....

I had a small tear in my body pillow I made and she was just pulling batting out. Oh my gosh I just cant catch a break today. I just felt like screaming.... but no I didn't she went straight to her room instead. I think she knows she is in trouble. Ugh I need a spa day!

Books = Houses

I remember growing up we used to spend hours and hour playing with our barbies. We'd take all of our books and make houses for our barbies to live in. It was so much fun. Well the other day I caught Kenlie building houses with her books. I was so excited because that's what I did when I was little. So today while Dustin and I were watching Conference she pulled her books out and started to build houses. I think its so much fun to watch her play and use her imagination.

Long lost puppy...

Dustin helped me get the baby clothes out of the garage so I could started organizing the clothes. When we put the clothes away before we just threw the clothes in trash bags. I am so excited I was able to get some bins so I can actually store their clothes organized and neatly. While I was going through bags and bags of clothes I came upon this bag that I thought was more clothes. I ripped it open and I found my long lost puppy. Kenlie was so excited when I pulled him out of the bag her eyes got real big and she said, doggy for me mommy!!! She has not let him out of her sight since.

I was picking up in the kitchen and Kenlie said mom my room is messy. I need help to clean it, we clean it every night together. I told Kenlie I could help her after I was done picking up the kitchen. So I finished up and came to her room and I found her picking up the toys in her room. She said, Mom I am cleaning my room all by myself! She was so proud of herself and wanted to show her room off.

Mom... I am trapped

Kenlie loves being in her room with her door closed. She is not even three yet and whatever room she is she wants the door closed. It doesn’t matter if she is going to sleep or playing with her toys. This little girl wants her privacy already.

What’s even more annoying is the guy who did a hack job of remodeling this house before it became a rental put door knobs on all the internal doors that you have to have a key for. Of course we were never given a key.

Here is what happened today.

Kenlie… Runs in her room to play closed and locked her door

Mom… Kenlie you need to open your door right now. 1….2….3….

Kenlie … does not open her door

Mom… Kenlie you can make a good decision or you can go in time out it is up to you.

Kenlie… finally opens the door

Mom… puts Kenlie in time out and takes the doorknobs off of the door. I am thinking great at least she cannot lock herself in since time out doesn't seem to help with this. I couldn't get the center piece out but no big deal, problem solved.

Kenlie… talks to mommy and then decides she wants to listen and go back to play in her room. So she goes and closes her door.

Mom… tries to walk in but cant because the thing in the center is still in place. I tried using a screw driver to open it and it wouldn’t work. So I call Dustin tell him he has to come home from work and I am freaking out a little while trying to keep Kenlie from freaking out in her room.

Kenlie… Says mom I am trapped and starts to get concerned.

Mom… its okay honey Dad will be here soon so he can get you out. I am peeking in through the hole trying to get her to show me how she goes down her slide to keep her calm.

Dad…calls back and tell me to put the knob in the center thing and open it.

Mom… Thanks honey it worked.

Dad… laughing at me and tells me how to take the center thing off.

So when Dustin gets home today he will be turning the knob around so she can’t lock herself in her room anymore.

It was a little weird only look and boy outfits. I had a feeling this baby was going to be a boy but actually looking at boy clothes was different. Now I am going to have a son, I am gonna have to get used to that.

Okay really this is a huge house with siding to make it look like a cabin. Nothing inside resembles a cabin. But it was so beautiful and so nice to get away and relax for the weekend with some of our good friends Kristen and Chirs.

Coloring at the Cabin

Well I am the mean mom that said no coloring at the Cabin. Especially no MARKERS!!!

So we decided we could get a craft table and the kids could color on the patio. Which means my chances of cleaning crayons or markers off the walls or floor were pretty good. Kenlie was so excited and she had so much for playing with her friend Olivia and her older brother Jalen.

Ashley is such a sweetheart she came over and watched Kenlie today for my doctor's Apt. Everything is going well. Heart beat was strong at 160 and I am down 13 pounds now.

When I got home I turned on some tunes and got Ivy dancing and singing. It was so adorable.

No more CRV

Well we were coming up on our lease on our CRV in the next few months and we have been kind of checking out cars lately. Dustin and I have always wanted a Tahoe and we finally found one at a great price and one that we just love. We got the tint done today which is going to be so nice in the wonderful AZ heat.

Kenlie loves that she has a vent in the back. I feel so much better know she is getting cool air to cool her off. YAY to rear AC!!!

We are hoping since we wont be able to outgrow this for a long time we will be able to keep it longer than we usually hold on to cars. ;)

Ashley and I decided we wanted a really nice body pillow.

So we ordered some nice sheets and got some really soft batting from Joanns. It took us three nights of cutting and pinning fabric and then sewing it together.

Then adding the batting and making sure all the seems were nice.

On the 3rd night I was just about done and Kenlie had one leg of the pillow and I was frustrated and grabbed the other side and tried to get her to drop it. Instead she grabbed tighter and my pillow ripped in half. I was so frustrated and was going to throw in the towel on this pillow.

Mom came over and helped me fix it and now its done. It is so soft and comfy and now of course Kenlie thinks its for her. Ummm I don't think so!

By the way dont you love my awesome wallpaper in my room. LOL

After we got in our condo and got settled a bit we went down to the harbor to Grandpa and Grandma's favorite fish joint.
It was fun to watch them eat right on the water.

Unfortunately I couldn't eat much, which is really how every meal went. It was so frustrating!!!

Baseball Mom

I was tyring to find a shirt to wear to the beach at Big 5 so I didn't get burned again and Mom was helping me keep and eye on Kenlie. I turn around and Kenlie says, "Look Mom, Baseball". I think I might have a ball player on my hands. I cant wait!

Mom gave her a bat to hold so we could take a pic of her with it but she was swing it trying to hit the shelves. So we had to take that from her pretty quickly.

Dad was so nice and took Kenlie on a walk and watched her so Mom and I could play a few card games at Amy's. She ended up falling asleep on the coffee table.

Sunday Dinner at Amy's

Last Sunday we got together and had a yummy dinner at Amy's and then we played a game. Meanwhile Kenlie was being a bit onry and finally fell asleep on the couch. She had been asleep for 30 minutes or so when she woke up kind of stumbling along and went straight for Micheal. She curled right up on his lap and let him hold her. Micheal has a new buddy, I think... haha

Jumping off the Diving Board

We went swimming at Amy's a couple days ago and Kenlie was jumping off the diving board with her cousins having so much fun! After a couple jumps with dad she was ready to jump in without dad right there to catch her and then she swam to the side like her cousins were doing just do it all over again.
She is such a big girl, I cant believe it sometimes.

Today was a hard day... nothing would settle in my stomach including bland crackers. I pretty much through up everything today I put in my mouth. I made a dinner that I usually love and when it came time to eat it I couldn't even go near it. Something about chicken isn't smelling right these days. So Dustin and Kenlie enjoyed their dinner and I suddenly felt the urge for empanadas. I couldn't stop talking about them so Dustin told me to order them and he went to pick them up. What a sweetie, I was able to eat them and they actually stayed down! How exciting I finally had food stay in my stomach today and I actually felt good. So I was able to get the dishes done and clean up the counters and stuff. What a great feeling it was to actually clean and not be in clutter. Dustin usually helps out with the cleaning when I feel so bad but he has been working all night for this thing he is doing for work. I am so proud of him he is doing so well at his new job.

Kenlie and I got to play with Todd and Raegan while the Standages were at a recital today. I haven't been feeling the best today so I was laying down with Todd while Kenlie and Raegan were eating apples at the table. It was quiet for a bit and I saw Kenlie down the hall so I was trying to figure out where Raegan was. I couldn't believe she fell asleep at the table and didn't fall over. What a cutie!

Swim and Play Day

Last week we went to Allison and went swimming with the Brittons, Hess', and the Richins. Kenlie had so much fun and loves to scare me by takeing off her floaties and trying to swim without them.

We sure had a fun day! We all brought subs and it was sure yummy. Then we got all lubed up with suncreen and went swimming.

We had a blast though... here are some pics.

Well I decided its time for Kenlie to be officially sleeping in her bed every night. Monday night was the first night in a while and she did really well. Usually she will come in the middle of the night and sneak in bed with me. I slept awful because I was up every hour or so checking on her making sure she was okay. She slept through the night in her room and then woke up at 8:30AM. For me that is early but we got up and then she wanted to play. I asked her if she slept good and she said, "Yes mommy, in my bed!" It was so sweet.

So I decided I'd like to get her a special bedding set just for her to celebrate this. I glanced around on eBay and didn't like the fabrics I was seeing so Ashley and I went to JoAnn's once again. I bought some fleece fabric for her blanket and then some fabric for fitted sheet.

Kenlie picked Dora fabric and actually pointed it out to me in the store. She was saying, "Mom... Cute Dora." She is such a riot!

I am pretty impressed with myself. It took all day doing things with Kenlie and and then sewing here and there when I could. I sewed a light pink pillow case, Dora fitted sheet for her mattress, and I tied her fleece blanket.

My mom is so awesome she was my inspiration while I worked on this project. Before today I had never attempted a fitted sheet before. She is an amazing seamstress and I'd love to be able to sew like her someday. She is off having a blast in Pennsylvania right now, and I miss her and Dad so much!

Really Good Day

Well today was a really great day and I probably over did it because I finally felt like I could do something. Ashley and I grabbed some yummy lunch at Chick Fil A and then we went to the Joann's Super Store and bought some super soft filling for the Pillows we are going to be making.

I came home and it was SO hot outside. I cleaned my office and the kitchen and then made hamburger pie. I used moms idea of doing it in the electric skillet and it was so nice. It didn't heat up the house and even better I used less dishes. I cleaned up dinner and then cleaned Kenlies room real good. I was in a cleaning frenzy and moved her slide and all her furniture so I could get it vacuumed really good. I was tired and a little worn out after all that but at least I was able to get some stuff done today.

Now the challenge is to keep it up.

Hopefully I continue to have good days so I can keep the house up through this pregnancy.
